RECENT:
2026 has been slow for skilled tradespeople, the market seems to favor those using social media and handyman apps to present themselves as experts in a field I've dedicated my career to.
-Observation:
This only worsens an ongoing problem in the trades: people who don't do good work and then cover it up. After decades in the trades, Somtimes It feels like I spend as much time correcting other people's hidden mistakes as doing my own work. Good work doesn't need to be covered up.
That said, I worked on a couple of very small remodeling projects for a contractor- an ADU and kitchen refurbish, and then a T111 siding demo and install, and a whole house replumb and a few small multi-day repairs here and there. On the personal side I rebuilt the top end of my bobber, dropped a rebuilt TH350 into the work truck, and gave my garden some serious TLC with new raised beds and self pollinating, best yields I've ever had and still going strong!
- Foundation to move-in, 9 months, one helper: <2,000 ft² house + 1,000 ft² deck +1,500 ft² garage (2025)
- Mudsill to TOP/move-in, 20 months, one helper: 3,200 ft² three-story addition, 11 crane picks, moment frames (W14×53,W8×67), 2½" Zip-R (2024)
- Framed a multi-story hillside fire rebuild for a contractor with a helper. Including forms, foundation concrete work, , built up flat roof with in the field drains and floating deck above.(2020)
- Working with contractor- drew plans, submitted, recieved approval on 2 story renovation. Did demo, plumbing and electrical framing, sheetrock, along with sheet metal and an exterior fire suppression system.(2018)
- 6 years SF renovation work, hit my deadlines (2010–2016)
WHAT I HANDLE
(These are things I can do, but if you’re already handling them, I don’t have to!)
- Strap my bags on and install materials
- Plans (architectural, structural, mechanical)
- Takeoffs, budgets, permits
- Framing, concrete, plumbing, finish, metal fab, tile, stone
- Subs—manage and/or work alongside
HOW I WORK
- $35K-40K or so in professional tools, ready day one, mobilize to the site unload tools and leave them. Makes for better start time and faster end of day pick up.
- Show up early, work clean, go home safe
- Don't need supervision, don't create problems
- Run my own work or coordinate with your crew—either way, it gets done and passes the inspection!
Last Big WildFire 2017
Stayed to protect property in Glen Ellen during evacuation. Contractor I was working for had some connections! Fire department escorted me to Beltain Ranch 2 days post-fire to complete framing I started and rafter and close in the roof before rain

Moved and replaced A professional plumbing job on an on demand water heater.
A replacement on demand water heater that I installed replacing the professionally installed previous one. Passed inspection
2025 Ready for framing, needed to grout under the mud sill with high compression mortar to compensate for 1” out of level foundatin in a few stretches.
2025 Beginning of another living space. I offered to Contractor to rough in waste and venting before laying subfloor.
So, I did that too.
